From playboy Chance the nymph no longer flees
His nasal ecstasy beats best Cologne
He bent right down and well what did he seize
With cherry-pips his cottage floor is sown
How it suprised us pale grey underlings
With sombre thoughts they grimly line the nave
A daring baron pockets precious Mings
As sleeping-bags the silent landscape pave
When dried the terrapin can naught express
One tongue will do to keep the verse agog
The colonel's still escutcheoned in undress
With breaking voice across the Alps they slog
On fish-slab whale nor seal has never swum
A wise loaf always knows its humblest crumb
